Week 2: Abstract Of The Project

A fingerprint is the feature pattern of human finger which composed of many friction ridges and furrows. It is highly believed with strong evidences that each of human fingerprint is unique. Each person has his own fingerprints with the permanent uniqueness. The main purpose of a Development Of Fingerprint Image Processing Recognition is to provide a better time attendance and also security service in which only fingerprint image that had been stored can access. The probability of this system to broke or being hacked is low due to the pattern of every human fingerprint is different.

There are several existing system in the market now days can be references to this project such as Gateman digital locks, Vigilance reader and Cytron attendance system with fingerprint reader.These type of product have one huge similarity which is by using finger print function.At the beginning stage of this project, a fingerprint device will scan a thumbprint pattern. Then a developed Matlab software will verify the authenticity of the finger pattern and compare to the data in the data base. If the data match it will give the person to access but whenever the data is not match the person will not get the permission to access.This system is to produce a better level of security level that can be store the history for accessing the system. Hence, every time the workers wish for passing the security system, the worker is needed to do the recognition. At the same time, by using time attendance system, it will record the time entry every time the worker enter.

The expected result for this project is to achieve overall objective and in the same time to give an advantages for the company that use this system in term of time attendance management and securing the workplace from outsider or prevent trespassers. Overall, this project’s proposal is deemed as a success although the programming of the project is quite challenging but it is still reasonable to be developed in time.
